The historic house is closed for restoration work

The gardens and visitor centre remain open.

While the historic house is under renovation, you can wander the site and engage in interpretive programs which feature costumed guides on the heritage grounds, in the kitchen garden and in the heirloom orchard. In the Visitor Centre, explore more of Macdonald’s history including the Many Voices of Confederation and share ideas with the Imagine a Country interactive photo booth. The gift shop also has souvenir options to take home as a lasting memory. Regular admission fees will not apply while the historic house is closed during renewal work.
