Fishing restrictions

Pursuant to the Superintendent authority designated under Section 35(1) of the National Parks Fishing Regulations, the following notice is in effect until further notice:

  • All Park waters within Fundy National Park with the exception of Bennett Lake and Wolfe Lake are closed to fishing.

Pursuant to the Superintendent authority designated under Section 7(1) of the National Parks General Regulations, the following notices are in effect until further notice:

  • Wolfe Lake: Fly-fishing is the only angling method permitted with zero daily possession limit / Catch-and-release only.
  • Angling is permitted only by a barbless fish hook or a fish hook where the barbs have been pinched to the shaft of the hook.

This notice is in force until March 31, 2023.

Anyone found in violation of this notice may be prosecuted under Section 24(2) of the Canada National Parks Act.

Use of metal detector prohibited

Use of metal detector prohibited

Pursuant to the Superintendent authority designated under Section 7(1) of the National Parks General Regulations, the following notice is in effect:

  • The use of a metal detector is designated as prohibited in Fundy National Park of Canada.
  • All areas of Fundy National Park of Canada are covered under this prohibition.

No person shall engage in an activity or use or enter and travel in an area that has been designated as restricted or prohibited pursuant to subsection 7(1) otherwise than in accordance with the terms and conditions prescribed in a permit issued under subsection 7(5).

This notice is in force until March 31, 2023

Anyone found in violation of this notice may be prosecuted under Section 24(2) of the Canada National Parks Act.

Swimming prohibited

Swimming prohibited

Pursuant to the Superintendent authority designated under Section 7(1) of the National Parks General Regulations, the following area is closed to swimming:

  • Forty-Five River - The two pools directly below the Forty-Five Bridge.

This notice is in force until March 31, 2023

Anyone found in violation of this notice may be prosecuted under Section 24(2) of the Canada National Parks Act.

Personal use permit required

Personal use permit required

Pursuant to section 7.1(2) of the National Parks of General Regulations, the following designated activities in the park require a personal use permit (“entry permit”) by order of the Superintendent, Fundy National Park:

  • Visitor Centers
  • Camping
  • oTENTic and Ôasis
  • Hiking and walking
  • Canoeing/kayaking/boating
  • Bicycling
  • Beaches and swimming
  • Geocaching
  • Interpretive programs and exhibits
  • Trailside exhibits
  • Special events
  • Day use and picnic areas
  • Viewing areas
  • Cross country skiing/snowshoeing
  • Shelters
  • Parking
  • Fishing
  • Golfing
  • Tennis

Additional permits are required for camping/accommodations and fishing. Additional fees may apply to engage in specific activities.

This notice is in force until July 31, 2022

Anyone found in violation of this notice may be prosecuted under Section 24(2) of the Canada National Parks Act.
