Location(s): Kejimkujik National Park and National Historic Site

Saturday, June 10 to Sunday, June 11, 2023

Nova Scotia Trail Running will be back to present the second edition of this incredible ultra running event!

The 2023 event is sold out, but spectators are welcome to cheer on the runners.

Starting at 9 am Saturday, June 10, 130 participants will leave Jim Charles Point, running the Slapfoot trail to the junction with the Mersey River trail. They’ll continue on the scenic Mersey River trail until they reach the turnaround point, and then will run back the way they came. Participants will have one hour to complete this 6.7 km loop.

Keji’s Backyard Ultra is a “last person standing” event, meaning participants will run this loop every hour on the hour until only one person is left (the winner!).

The race is expected to continue into Sunday or possibly even Monday.

Best of luck to all participants!

    Please note:

For the safety of everyone involved in the event, please avoid driving down the gravel road to Jim Charles Point on Saturday, June 10. Between participants, spectators, and the support crews, the Jim Charles Point/Kedge Beach parking lot will be full that day.

During this time, visitors are welcome to walk or bike on the Jim Charles Point Road or to access the Jim Charles area via the Slapfoot trail.

Jim Charles Point, Kedge Beach, and all trails will remain open for the duration of the race, but please travel with caution and watch for racers.
