Lake Superior National Marine Conservation Area

Join Parks Canada for an on-water introduction to Lake Superior National Marine Conservation Area! Launching below the Aguasabon Falls in Terrace Bay, this one-hour kayaking program explores the ancient geological history that created the iconic landscape of Lake Superior. Following a Parks Canada guide through a calm, sheltered area, this program is ideal for beginner paddlers or those seeking a gentle experience on this vast lake.

2026 Dates:  July 4 – September 13, 2026

Time: Available between 10:30 AM and 3:30 PM daily. Same-day sign-up deadline is 3:30pm

Duration: 1 to 1.5 hours

Details:

  • Minimum 2 participants; maximum 6 participants.
  • Participants must:
    - be able to remain seated for up to 1.5 hours in a kayak
    - be able to paddle a kayak, single or tandem, for the duration of the program
    - weigh at least 22.5 kg / 50 lbs to properly wear an approved PFD

Advanced bookings are not needed however, they can be made online or by phone or email.
