Announcement – Deployment of Georges Naoufal – Director, AI & Data Innovation

Dear colleagues,

I am pleased to announce the deployment of Georges Naoufal to the new position of Director, AI & Data Innovation, within the Strategic Policy, Business and Digital Services Directorate (SPBD), effective November 6, 2025.

Reporting directly to the vice-president, SPBD, and working closely with the Chief Information Officer as well as other executives, Georges will lead a small team focussed on advancing the organization’s strategic innovation, data integration and implementation of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Through dedicated leadership, Parks Canada will be better able to harness the power of AI in the delivery of our objectives.

Georges began his public service career as a Commissioned Officer with the Canadian Armed Forces before joining Elections Canada in 2008, where he progressed through more senior roles in audit, information technology, data analytics, and management, building expertise in governance and organizational oversight.

Since 2021, Georges has been the director, Data Science at the Canada Revenue Agency, where he leverages his expertise in artificial intelligence, project management, internal audit, business intelligence, and advanced sciences to drive innovation and support evidence-based decision-making across the organization.

Georges holds a Doctorate in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence from St. Antonio Catholic University, in Spain, as well as a Master of Business Administration in Information Technology from the Université du Québec en Outaouais.

Please join me in welcoming Georges to Parks Canada and wishing him every success in his new role.
