_________

Hello,

It is with profound sadness that I share the news of the sudden passing of Adeline Salomonie, Field Unit Superintendent in Nunavut. I recognize that this loss will be deeply felt throughout our workplace community. I extend my heartfelt condolences to all those who had the privilege of knowing and working with her.

Adeline was a dedicated and respected leader whose commitment to Nunavut, its communities, and the people around her left a lasting impression. She exemplified Indigenous leadership and brought that strength to advancing meaningful co-management with our Inuit partners.  She was known for her kindness, professionalism, and unwavering dedication to serving others. Her contributions and the positive impact she made will not be forgotten, and she will be deeply missed.

This has been a tough time for the Parks Canada team. Adeline’s passing reminds us that we have recently tragically lost other team members, which many of us are feeling deeply.

I want you to take care of yourselves and one another. Support is available through the Employee and Family Assistance Program at 1-800-268-7708 and through online resources. If you are affected by this loss, I encourage you to make use of these confidential services and to seek the support you may need.

My thoughts are with all those who are mourning.

Andrew Campbell

Interim President & Chief Executive Officer
