Announcement – Deployment of Omar McDadi – Field Unit Superintendent, Southwestern Ontario

Dear colleagues,

I am pleased to announce the deployment of Omar McDadi to the position of Field Unit Superintendent, Southwestern Ontario within the Operations Directorate, effective July 30, 2026.

Omar began his Parks Canada career in 2004 as a student biologist in Kootenay, Yoho, and Banff national parks. Over the years, he gained experience across the mountain parks in fire management, communications, and visitor experience before joining the Rouge National Urban Park team in Toronto in 2014, where he played a leadership role in establishing Canada's first national urban park. In 2018, he became Rouge's second Field Unit Superintendent. Since February 2026, Omar has been serving as Field Unit Superintendent for Southwestern Ontario on assignment.

Omar holds a Bachelor in Biology and Environmental Studies from the University of Victoria, and also has a diploma in French as a Second Language from Université Laval.

Please join me in congratulating Omar and wishing him every success in his new role.
