Announcement – Deployment of Hannah Rogers – Director, Conservation Strategies
Hello everyone,
I am pleased to announce the deployment of Hannah Rogers to the position of Director, Conservation Strategies, within the Protected Areas Establishment and Conservation Directorate, effective October 13, 2026.
Prior to joining Parks Canada, Hannah served as Director General, Environmental Enforcement at Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), a position she held since 2022. Over the course of more than 25 years in the federal public service, she has held a variety of executive, management and policy roles, including Executive Director, Environmental Enforcement at ECCC and Director, Environment at Indigenous Services Canada. She has also held positions at Health Canada and the former Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada, contributing to environmental protection, Indigenous partnerships, and national policy and program initiatives. Her experience spans regulatory enforcement, environmental stewardship, and the delivery of complex national programs.
Hannah holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences and Humanities from McGill University and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Queen’s University.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Lisa Young for her dedication and contributions to Parks Canada’s mandate. Lisa will be retiring on October 31, 2026. We wish her all the best in this next chapter.
Please join me in congratulating Hannah and wishing her every success in her new role.
