- Schedule: Thursdays in July and August at 2:00 p.m.
- Sundays in July and August at 11:00 a.m.
- Cost: Please refer to our fees page under the Heritage Presentation Special Programs heading.
- You must be at least 17 years old; youth under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
- Participants must meet at the Visitor Kiosk 30 minutes before the start of the program for preparation and instructions. Photo ID is required.

Add an explosive element to your Fort Rodd Hill visit by unleashing the roar of a 13 Pounder Rifled Muzzle Loading Field Gun. A true rarity from the 19th century, it is the only one of its kind in the world that is still firing!
This experience takes place in the main field of Fort Rodd Hill National Historic Site. Our expert staff will introduce you to the history of this gun and fit you with a reproduction of a historic Royal Marine Artillery tunic and helmet. Feel the excitement build as the gun crew executes a historic drill, preparing the gun to fire. Then, step forward with the linstock and feel history BOOM!
