Fort St. James National Historic Site Management Plan

The management plan lays out direction for the national historic site, including a vision, key strategies and objectives. Management plans help make sound decisions about where to invest financial and human resources.

Management plans are a requirement of the Parks Canada Agency Act and guide the management of national historic sites. Management plans are reviewed every ten years.

Indigenous and public consultation

Indigenous partners, stakeholder groups and members of the public provided input to the development of the management plan during two phases of consultation in 2022 and 2023.

Management plan implementation is a continuous cycle of consultation, decision-making, evaluating and reporting. Parks Canada will continue to consult with Indigenous partners, stakeholders, and the public throughout the implementation of the plan.
