WHAT: Pursuant to section 3(1) of the National Parks of Canada Fire Protection Regulations, starting or maintaining fires is prohibited when the Fire Hazard Rating is at Very High or Extreme, or between 8 am and 8 pm when the rating is at high or when there is a provincial or regional fire ban by order of the Superintendent, Gros Morne National Park of Canada.

WHERE: Gros Morne National Park of Canada

WHY: This prohibition is necessary to prevent forest fires in the park.

NOTE: Any contravention of this notice constitutes an offence under section 24(2) of the Canada National Parks Act. Failure to comply with that Act, the applicable park regulations or this notice may be grounds for prosecution under the Canada National Parks Act.
