Fort St. Joseph National Historic Site
Spend an afternoon touring the fascinating archaeological remains at Fort St. Joseph, explore the Visitor Centre and then, hike the trails through the surrounding woods and wetlands watching for birds as you go. All trails ultimately lead to Lake Huron, so choose a warm rock in the sun, rest from your hike and imagine the wealth of history that has taken place at this important War of 1812 site.

St. Joseph Island is 45 km south of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Access is by bridge from Highway 17 (Trans-Canada Highway). Parks Canada green beaver signs will guide you along the 37 km drive to Fort St. Joseph National Historic Site.
