The Canada Strong Pass is back for the summer 2026! Parks Canada is offering free admission from:

  • June 19 to September 7, 2026 inclusive

Regular fees apply from January 16 to June 18, 2026 inclusive and from September 8 to October 12, 2026 inclusive.

The Government of Canada is offering free admission to places operated by Parks Canada from:

  • June 19 to September 7, 2026 inclusive

What's included in free admission at the Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue Canal National Historic Site

During the Canada Strong Pass periods, no fees apply for :

  • lockage

What's not included in free admission at the Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue Canal National Historic Site

During the Canada Strong Pass periods, fees still apply for:

  • mooring;
  • shore power;
  • services provided by third parties;
  • nautical charts;
  • parking (where applicable);
  • permits (e.g. research, drone use, your event at the canal).

Where free admission applies

Free admission only applies to places operated by and for Parks Canada, during regular operating hours. 

Where Parks Canada free admission doesn't apply

Parks Canada free admission does not apply to:

  • provincial or territorial parks
  • Sépaq parks in Québec
  • municipal and private parks
  • parks or historic sites not operated by Parks Canada
  • locations operated by third parties

Lockage is free, during regular operating hours from:

  • June 19 to September 7, 2026 inclusive

Regular fees apply from January 16 to June 18, 2026 inclusive and from September 8 to October 12, 2026 inclusive.

Who gets free lockage

Lockage is free for all visitors from June 19 to September 7, 2026 inclusive.

How to get a free lockage

No permit or ticket is required to pass through the lock of the Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue Canal National Historic Site from June 19 to september 7, 2026 inclusive.

Parks Canada staff will continue to welcome visitors and boaters at the lock station of the canal.

The Canada Strong Pass is in effect:

  • June 19 to September 7, 2026 inclusive

Available to buy online

The following admission passes and permits can be bought online:

  • Seasonal mooring permits (At the start of the sailing season)

Available to buy in-person

You can buy lockage permits in person outside of the Canada Strong Pass periods, on site at lock stations. 

For those visiting outside of the free admission dates, Parks Canada’s team members will help you find the best value for admission once you arrive.
