WHAT: Pursuant to Section 7(1) of the National Parks General Regulations, of the Canada National Parks Act, the following activity is restricted or prohibited by order of the Superintendent:

All entry and travel within the Kidney Springs Area.

WHERE: The area to the southwest of Mountain Avenue (see accompanying map).

WHY: The Banff Springs Snail is an endangered species that is only found in Banff National Park. This area is critical habitat for the snail and any human activity could endanger the survival of this species.

PENALTY: Violators may be charged under the Canada National Parks Act: maximum penalty $25 000.
