Area Closure: Douglas-Fire Hillside prescribed fire operations in Jasper National Park (Amended)

What:
Pursuant to subsection 36(1) of the National Parks General Regulations, the following area is closed to all traffic and travel by order of the Superintendent:
The Razorback Prescribed Fire impacted area remains closed.
Where:
In Jasper National Park, the area between trails 8 (Mina) and 8f (Razorback) beyond the trail corridor is closed to all use. The trail corridor is identified by the disturbed surface of the trail and 5 metres from the centre line.
Please refer to the closure maps for graphic description of the area.
Why:
For the safety of visitors and the public and to ensure ecosystem recovery following prescribed fire operations.
Penalty:
Violators may be charged under the Canada National Parks Act: maximum penalty $25 000.
