It’s spring and bears are active in the valley bottom

Reduce your risk:

• Keep 100 metres away from bears.
• Supervise children.
• Keep your dog on a leash.
• Carry bear spray: know how to use it.
• Make noise while on trails.
• Travel in groups.
• If you encounter a dead animal, leave immediately and report it to park staff.

If you encounter a bear:

• Stay calm.
• Pick up children and pets.
• Back away slowly.
• Leave the area immediately.
