What:

Pursuant to subsection 36(1) of the National Parks General Regulations, the following area is closed to all traffic and travel by order of the Superintendent:
In order to assess and mitigate fire-weakened trees near the trails and monitor fire behaviour

Where:

In Jasper National Park, the area on Pyramid Bench south including trails 8f (Razorback), 8 (Mina), 8b (Enchanted Forest), 8f (Sidewinder between the forks of 8f). Please refer to the closure maps for graphic description of the area.

Why:

For the safety of visitors and the public following prescribed fire operations.

Penalty:

Violators may be charged under the Canada National Parks Act: maximum penalty $25 000.
