Riding Mountain National Park
Restricted activities: Campground restrictions

What:
Pursuant to Section 13 (b) of the National Parks General Regulations, the following activities are prohibited by order of the Superintendent:
- Park users must not leave any items unattended at their campsites which could attract bears or other wildlife. This includes food, dirty dishes, coolers, garbage, pet food, or any items associated with food preparation.
- The consumption of alcoholic beverages is hereby prohibited in the Wasagaming Campground, Lake Audy Campground, Whirlpool Campground, Moon Lake Campground, and Deep Lake Campground between 23:00 – 07:00 daily from Friday May 6, 2022 until further notice.
Pursuant to Section 14 (g) of the National Parks Camping Regulations, this notice authorizes staff and security officers to inspect any campsite at any time.
- These unattended items may be removed from a campsite and stored in an appropriate facility.
- A notice will be left at the campsite indicating how to retrieve any removed items.

In the campgrounds in Riding Mountain National Park.
Why:
To ensure visitor safety, protect wildlife, and promote a quality visitor experience.
NOTE:
It is an offence under the Canada National Parks Act to contravene any Regulation. Failure to comply may result in immediate cancellation of the camping permit, eviction from the campground and violators may be charged.
