SUPERINTENDENT'S NOTICE: Eel fishing restrictions to season and limits

Pursuant to section 35(1) of the National Parks of Canada Fishing Regulations, the following restrictions apply to all waters located within Kouchibouguac National Park of Canada.

American Eel

  • No person shall fish and retain an American eel that is less than 53 cm in length during the open season of May 15 to September 1, 2026 (with line or spear).
  • No person shall fish and retain an American eel less than 20 cm during the open season of December 13, 2026 to February 16, 2027 (spear only).

The daily catch limit during an open season is 10.

Anyone found in violation of this notice may be prosecuted under Section 24(2) of the Canada National Parks Act.
