Reconnect with the land as you learn about local Mi’kmaw culture, explore the gentle waterways, and experience the depths of the Dark-Sky Preserve in the company of our skilled interpreters.
Some programs have limited space and require registration. Many programs are free with admission and some programs require a fee per person.

Have you always wanted to learn how to geocache but weren’t sure where to start?
Join volunteers from the Association of Nova Scotia Geocaching and Parks Canada for a fun, hands-on learning experience with experts on how to get started. Learn the basics, find your first cache and explore hidden treasures at Kejimkujik!
Did you know? Kejimkujik features six geocache series: five traditional caches, and one EarthCache.
The Association of Nova Scotia Geocaching (ANSG) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting Nova Scotia as a geocaching destination and educating the public about safe, ethical, and enjoyable geocaching. ANSG works in collaboration with Parks Canada to develop and maintain geocaches at Kejimkujik.

17th Annual Kejimkujik Dark Sky Weekend!

Head to Nova Scotia’s only Dark-Sky Preserve for a weekend of dark sky delights. Join the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada (RASC) and Parks Canada to learn more about the stars, planets, and constellations in the night sky.
Did you know it takes 20 to 30 minutes for the human eye to adapt to the dark? Please use only a red light when joining us for night programs to protect your night vision and that of other visitors.
Weather
- All programs will proceed if the skies are overcast but we will cancel programs if it’s raining.
Parking
- Parking at the Sky Circle is limited, so please walk to the Sky Circle.
- Day-use visitors: please park in parking lot P2 (Amphitheatre parking lot) and walk to the Sky Circle.

Kejimkujik LoonWatch

Rain date: August 30, 2026Teams of LoonWatchers will canoe assigned lakes to provide a simultaneous survey of loon presence and reproductive activity.
Lakes are surveyed from 12 noon until 3 pm. LoonWatch observation forms will be collected at the Visitor Centre following the survey.
Equipment
A canoe and associated equipment must be supplied by the volunteers. There are opportunities to rent equipment from Whynot Adventure, The Keji Outfitters at Jakes Landing.
In case of inclement weather
High winds and/or extremely rainy days represent a safety hazard and can affect loon visibility. In case of inclement weather, LoonWatch will generally take place on the following Sunday.

Join Next Ride for an exciting test drive event featuring a unique Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) demonstration. Discover how EVs can act as reliable power sources and enhance camping experiences with modern amenities.
The event will highlight the V2L capabilities of the Chevrolet Silverado EV, demonstrated through a practical camping setup. Don’t miss this opportunity to explore the innovative ways electric vehicles can bring to outdoor adventures!

Next Ride
Next Ride is the provincial electric transportation education and engagement program. Funded by the government of Nova Scotia and operated by the Clean Foundation, Next Ride travels the province offering free test drives of electric vehicles and e-bikes to help folks get familiar with electric transportation.

Thanksgiving weekend at Kejimkujik

Soak up the brilliant colours of fall and enjoy what has become one of Kejimkujik’s most popular weekends of the year! Participate in the annual pumpkin-carving contest and take the plunge at the annual Cold Turkey Swim.
Saturday, October 10
6 pm to 8 pm — Jeremy’s Bay Campground
– Pumpkin-carving contest viewing and judging. Official judges will be out scoring sites.
– Parking: Please walk if you are able to. Parking is available at Jeremy Bay Campground P1 and P2.
Sunday, October 11
11 am — Merrymakedge Beach
– Cold Turkey Swim.
– Awards Ceremony: Prizes awarded for the pumpkin-carving contest.
