Brass Point Bridge
Rideau Canal National Historic Site
Parks Canada will begin the full replacement of Brass Point Bridge in Seeley’s Bay on June 25, 2026, with reopening expected in December 2027. Navigation for watercraft will not be interrupted during hours of operation. Navigation will not be possible under the bridge outside these hours. Originally built in 1887, this long (147m / 485’) wooden decked steel bridge incorporates a wooden swing bridge, which is operated by the only remaining bridgemaster on the Rideau Canal throughout the busy navigation season.
