Public engagement
Rouge National Urban Park
The Rouge Beach Improvements Project is designed to protect and restore the ecological integrity of Rouge Beach and Marsh while enhancing opportunities for visitors to connect with nature.
Feedback received during the first round of public engagement is summarized in the What We Heard Report (2020-2021). Subsequent feedback received during the public review of the draft Detailed Impact Assessment was used to refine the assessment, strengthen mitigation measures and further minimize project impacts. The finalized Detailed Impact Assessment (2022) reflects this input and documents the project's environmental review and mitigation approach.
Public engagement period for Phase 2 improvements: coming soon
Building on the public consultation and community feedback that helped shape the Phase 1 improvements, Parks Canada will soon be seeking input from the community on the next phase of implementation. For a detailed overview of the project, including the phased approach to implementation, visit Project overview.
As planning for Phase 2 advances, public feedback will continue to play an important role in informing project decisions and implementation.
Opportunities to participate in the consultation process and share your perspectives will be posted on this page as they become available.
How to get involved
Parks Canada is committed to providing meaningful opportunities for participation throughout the planning process. Upcoming consultation activities will offer opportunities to:

Stay informed
Opportunities to participate in the consultation process and provide feedback will be communicated on this page as well as on Rouge National Urban Park’s social media:
