Join in February for a week of extra guided winter fun!

Three different programs are offered throughout the week:

Sparks in the Park

At the Main Beach in Waskesiu.
Winter has arrived! Drop by and learn some tips and tricks to light campfires with matches or with flint and steel, and then test your skills!

Snowshoe Stomp

Meet at the Visitor Centre 15 minutes before the program start time.
Experience winter off trail – step into a pair of snowshoes and stomp your way through fresh snow through the forest with a Parks Canada guide. Learn which animals have come before, identifying tracks and scat along the way! Snowshoes are provided for your use during the program. You can sign up in advance by visiting the Visitor Centre or calling 306-663-4522.

Gateway to the Stars

At the breakwater near the Main Beach in Waskesiu.
Gather around the campfire, look up, and admire the stars! Learn to navigate the night sky using the Big Dipper and Orion as your guide. Even if the evening is cloudy, come and join us to hear stories of the night sky. Dress warmly and bring your own blanket if you have one!

Cost: free

Note that the programs will be cancelled in cases of extreme cold (base temperature below -25C, wind chill below -30C).
