Cape Merry Battery

The Cape Merry Battery, a stone wall built to protect its cannon from enemy fire, was constructed in 1744 to guard the river and Prince of Wales Fort.

Centuries later, both the battery and its cannon remain, ready as ever to defend the fort and Cape Merry from enemy occupation.
