About this park

Welcome to 3,000 square kilometres of home to a staggering diversity of living things among the deep silent forests and windswept grasslands.

In the traditional territory of the Anishinaabe people, Riding Mountain National Park is located within Treaty No. 2 territory. Parks Canada works with First Nations from Treaty No. 2, No. 1 and No. 4.

The pristine wilderness will offer visitors of all ages a deep connection to the surrounding landscape. Enjoy an array of beach, town and wildland experiences throughout the year.

Fat biking

Rent a fatbike from the Friends of Riding Mountain Learning Centre and rip through the scenic trails around South Lake and the Wasagaming Campground. Or, if you’re looking to really take it all in, strap on a pair of snowshoes or cross-country skis!

Winter adventuring

Skating paths winding through trees, snowshoe trails over frozen beaver ponds and hundreds of kilometres of tracked ski trails make Riding Mountain your perfect winter getaway.

Camping and glamping

Parks Canada oTENTiks and MicrOcubes blend the best of camping with cabin comforts. Serviced campgrounds and backcountry camping are available in boreal forest, grasslands and aspen park.
