  • Main Deck Tour

    A guided tour that immerses you in the daily life of the ship’s company. After a brief introduction, this 45-minute experience takes you across the ship’s main deck, including crew living quarters, cooking facilities, and a radio room.

    This special tour, available by pre-booking only, offers a unique opportunity to explore areas of HMCS Haida that are typically off-limits to the public.

    With a maximum group size of just 10 people, you'll enjoy an intimate and personalized experience. Discover the hidden corners and hear the untold stories of this historic naval ship, guided by our knowledgeable staff.

    Don't miss your chance to see the HMCS Haida from a whole new perspective!

    Purchase your timed ticket for the Behind the Scenes Tour. Bookings must be made at least one week in advance.

    The Behind the Scenes Tour involves navigating HMCS Haida National Historic Site via a series of hatches, narrow passageways, raised thresholds, and steep ladders. Be aware of deck surfaces that can be slippery when wet and watch out for low overhead clearance. This program may not be suitable for individuals with certain health conditions, including but not limited to heart conditions and mobility issues. 

    Participants are required to wear closed-toed shoes and must be 16 years of age or older.

    Embark on a unique adventure with our enhanced Gunnery Experience! This exclusive program provides participants with an in-depth historical and technical background on the 4” guns used aboard HMCS Haida during the Second World War and the Korean War.

    Participants will have the rare opportunity to load and fire the 4” guns on-board HMCS Haida, guided by a team of expert Parks Canada staff. Feel the rush as you don historic gun crew gear and immerse yourself in the atmosphere of naval warfare.

    This enhanced program is available on a pre-booked basis only, offering an unforgettable experience for history enthusiasts and adventure seekers alike.

    The HMCS Haida Gunnery Experience involves loud noises and physical activity. It may not be suitable for individuals with certain health conditions, including but not limited to heart conditions, hearing impairments, or mobility issues.

    All participants are required to wear closed-toed shoes, and all provided protective gear provided by Parks Canada, including hearing and eye protection.

    Only trained personnel are allowed to handle gunnery equipment. Participants must not touch or operate any equipment unless explicitly instructed by staff. Failure to comply with staff instructions may result in the participants removal from the experience.
    This experience is only available for participants and spectators that are 16 years of age or older.

    Participants will navigate the ship via a series of hatches, narrow passageways, raised thresholds, and steep ladders. Be aware of deck surfaces that can be slippery when wet and watch out for low overhead clearance.

    Women of War Weekend at HMCS Haida will commemorate and celebrate the many ways that women contributed to Canada's war effort during the Second World War.

    Special programming will provide a look at how women made important contributions on the Homefront, in industrial settings, and as active members of the Women's Royal Canadian Navy Service (WRCNS).

    Come aboard and learn about the important contribution women made towards the Allied victory!

    On August 29 and 30, “Canada’s fightingest ship” celebrates the 83rd anniversary of its commissioning. We are thrilled to invite you to make this commemoration a cherished end-of-summer tradition. Come aboard HMCS Haida to immerse yourself in the ship’s storied history and create lasting memories.

    This year, we aim to make the event even more special, with the return of historic weapons demonstrations, displays, and more!
