When Nature beckons…

For a unique encounter with nature at your own pace, stop in on one of the islands of the archipelago for some wilderness camping.

The Mingan Archipelago National Park Reserve offers 36 campgrounds spread over six different islands. The campsites are undeveloped, so that visitors can enjoy the full peace and fascination of the wilderness.

Before you leave home, get informed on the necessary precautions to take and become familiar with the general regulations and the code of ethics on seabird observation applicable in the park reserve.

Useful Tips

To access the islands of the archipelago, local maritime transport companies offer a large selection of services from June to September. We recommend you make early reservations.

There are no restaurants, canteens or drinking water available on the island.

Bring with you:

  • Warm clothes;
  • A good sleeping bag;
  • Good walking shoes;
  • A small axe for making kindling from the firewood;
  • Food for two days more than your expected stay (sea conditions may prevent boatmen from picking you up on the scheduled date).
