La Mauricie National Park
Kilometres of happiness
La Mauricie National Park is the ideal playground for hikers and cross-country skiers in the heart of the Laurentian forest. Located halfway between Montréal and Québec, this protected area covers 536 km2, which is larger than the island of Montréal! There are great opportunities to spend the night close to the trails and enjoy a dynamic winter programming. Both accessible and wild, the park is a major winter destination with breathtaking landscapes!
Quality winter activities
The park has a vast, nearly 70-km network of marked classic and freestyle cross-country ski trails and over 50 km of winter hiking trails. A team of enthusiastic specialists has been maintaining cross-country ski trails for over 50 years. These experts operate modern snow-grooming machines equipped with GPS used to update the Trail conditions web page. This page helps visitors plan their activities. The trails lead to magnificent viewpoints and shelters with wood-burning stoves, that can be found approximately every 5 km. Encounters with forest dwellers add to the charm of the experience! Just keep an appropriate distance from the animals and do not feed them so that the wildlife stays wild. Park employees are interested in your observations. Let them know what you’ve seen!
The trails can be accessed from the Saint-Gérard entrance and the Saint-Jean-des-Piles entrance where the Rivière à la Pêche Service Centre is located. It has high-quality and welcoming facilities, including a well-equipped waxing room, a hiking and cross-country ski equipment rental centre, indoor and outdoor fireplaces, a dining room, electric vehicle charging stations, washrooms, showers and changing rooms.
Wide range of accommodations
The park provides a range of accommodations to suit all tastes, so you can extend your stay and enjoy a different experience close to the snowy landscape. More adventurous visitors will enjoy camping in a tent or embrace vanlife in a camper. Those who want greater comfort and simplicity can stay in ready-to-camp oTENTik tents, in Domaine Wabenaki-Andrew heritage lodges or in the new rental cabins, accessible for visitors with reduced mobility. It is the perfect opportunity to relax after a day in the great outdoors, or to get ready for an early start in the morning.
Come and enjoy experiences for sports enthusiasts and nature lovers alike in a protected natural area!
