Parks Canada launches its first Official Languages Action Plan (2025–2028)

Dear colleagues,

We are very proud to present Parks Canada’s first-ever  Official Languages Action Plan (2025–2028). This three-year plan reaffirms our commitment to the equality of French and English. It supports an inclusive and welcoming workplace and fosters bilingualism within the federal public service.

In parallel, Official Languages Accountability and Reporting Framework, which clearly defines responsibilities and monitoring mechanisms, will help the Agency strengthen and promote linguistic duality, while optimizing service delivery in both official languages.

The Action Plan sets out clear priorities aligned with government-wide initiatives to promote linguistic duality and official languages, including the modernized Official Languages Act.  The Plan provides guidance on roles and responsibilities while outlining concrete measures to be implemented to foster the use of both languages in our workplace.

The Official Languages Program team will be sharing information and practical tools to bring the Action Plan to life and support its implementation. Managers will also receive guidance to further support their teams in fostering an inclusive and bilingual work environment.

Together, we will continue to build a culture that reflects our values, our linguistic diversity and obligations.

We thank you for your ongoing commitment, which is central to our collective success and to promoting Official Languages at Parks Canada.

Sincerely,
